One of the most important projects in Heritage Education in Brazil, the Train of Vale was idealized, planned and implemented by SANTA ROSA BUREAU CULTURAL, by invitation of the Vale Foundation.
A pioneering initiative that promotes the acknowledgement and valorization of the cultural and natural heritage of Mariana and Ouro Preto, the project recovered the eighteen-kilometer railway section that connects the two cities, and restored its four stations. At the Mariana and Ouro Preto stations, many cultural activities aim to make both the population and visitors aware of local heritage, favoring identity rescue and a broad sense of citizenship.
SANTA ROSA BUREAU CULTURAL was responsible for the technical and executive management of the Heritage Education Program; its activities are divided into three subprograms: Awareness; Research and Registration; and Training. The several awards received acknowledge the excellence of the initiative that served more than 1,55 million people in nine years.
